WELCOME

Welcome to SPCC’s helping hand to the local charity Butterfly House! Butterfly House is an abuse advocacy center in Albemarle, focused on helping children recover and heal from trauma. This center provides forensically sound interviews, helps with casework, and helps provide ways to move forward in difficult times. The SPCC Painting I class has had the pleasure of teaming up with this wonderful organization to spread awareness; here we have information about the Butterfly House and how you can help, along with artworks made in support. We thank you for taking the time to visit our site and furthering an extraordinary and worthy cause such as this.

ABOUT

In the fall semester of 2020, a class of five students led by Ansley Adams developed this website in dedication to The Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center. This non-profit organization aims to grant “every child with the chance to lead a safe, happy, and healthy life” by providing forensically sound interviews and providing free medical exams. Our class will accomplish their vision through social media campaigning, fundraising, and community outreach. However, our sole focus is on generating donations by using our own creative prowess. So far, we have created butterfly motif works that will be available upon donation. Some other components that we are working towards completion include a specialized hashtag, a silent auction event, and selling our art in local galleries. A subconscious goal of ours was to also lay a strong foundation so that future classes will continue this beneficial project

"Every child deserves the chance to lead a safe, happy and healthy life. Our goal is to help the children we care for do just that.
Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center, a facility of Atrium Health Stanly, offers children, who are possible victims of abuse, a safe environment to receive emotional and physical support from a team of caring and experienced professionals. Our dedicated social workers, medical providers and nurses understand the sensitive nature of suspected child abuse or neglect and have cared for over 1,800 children since opening our doors in 2005.
We serve the following counties in North Carolina: Stanly, Montgomery, Anson and Richmond."
